Community Assessment Survey

Hey PORT Fans,

As many of you know, The PORT has recently been working with 21 Reasons to Prevent Underage Drinking and the Casco Bay Coalition to address some of the issues surrounding teen substance use in Freeport. Do stay tuned, as we are hoping to host a community-wide forum later this spring to invite people from across Freeport to come together and dialogue about some of these issues.

In the meantime, 21 Reasons is currently taking an online survey of community members throughout the Casco Bay region. The survey is designed for absolutely any member of the community, regardless of age, to help determine perceptions and to set priorities for the future. It would be great if you take just a minute to follow the link below and take the assessment:

Thanks so much!

Chairity Auction Update

Hey PORT Fans,

Just wanted to give you all an update on our upcoming chair auction. We've heard from several artists who are hard at work creating unique artwork with their chairs.

Mia Thomas, a freshman at Freeport High School, painting her chair at home

We're really looking forward to seeing all of the finished chairs, and we want to thank the many artists who have given their time and creative energy to making this event successful. Keep an eye out around Freeport, as we'll have different chairs on display around town during the month of March!

February Trailblazers -- Fun in the Snow!

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to give an update on this month's Trailblazers for middle school students. We had our first snowshoe outing Tuesday, and took a lesson from the great folks at L.L. Bean's Outdoor Discovery School. It was a lot of fun to explore through the woods on their property, even though the crusty snow made the travel challenging!

We're really looking forward to our next two Tuesday outings on February 10th and 24th. We'll check out some local snowshoe trails, and if weather permits, go on a more challenging snowshoe hike.

If you missed this month's Trailblazers program, check out our Making Music program in March!
